MultiCam audio

Hello

I've got a Multicam project of a concert and am using audio from one main camera so I have disabled audio on all the other cameras in the angle editor. However I would like to be able to fade in the occasional sound effect that exists on he audio recorded from other cameras at certain moments to create more ambience.

I am thinking I need to "switch on" the audio in the Inspector for the particular shot I want and then expand the audio components as and where I need them.

Would that be the best way of doing what I want or is there another way please?

Thank you

James

[James Ewart] "Would that be the best way of doing what I want"

Not sure about it being the best way, but it's the only way that I can think of of doing it, yes.

With the Switch Audio mode selected, you can also add an additional audio track by ⌥-clikcing on the angle in the cameras window btw. You don't necessarily have to use the channel configuration.

I thought this was a great tip. In playing around, though, I found it's not option + click, it's option + cmd + click.

[Bret Williams] "it's option + cmd + click"

Oops. Oh well. Goes to show you how long it's been since I've used it.

I do not see all the audio channels as roles in the timeline index. Does that mean something is wrong as I would very much like to export all the separate audio tracks to give to somebody to do a proper mix.

When I export audio I just seem to have the option of export the stereo mix (2 channels)

And I cannot figure the best workflow to output this audio.

Thank you

Roles are not by lane position but rather type of audio. In this case all of your audio likely has the same Dialogue Role because you haven't explicitly defined any others. But that said, they will all become proper tracks for a Pro Tools session if you create it with X2Pro.

Thank you. Sorry could you talk me through the workflow. I have ten camera angles each with their own audio I would like to export. How would I give each audio channel a different role and export for audio mixing.

Or X2Pro finds all the audio and does this all for me?

I'm a bit stuck.

Thanks again
