Mask controls: how to lock alignment

Is it possible to lock the control pucks for the mask effect?
2 things:
I want to be sure the mask line is straight across screen.
and also to adjust the line by moving 2 points together.

Not near X right now, but in most "move" functions - the default is that holding the shift key while dragging constrains movement to the horizontal or vertical axis.

Did you try that?

[Bill Davis] "the default is that holding the shift key while dragging constrains movement to the horizontal or vertical axis. "

Nope. Not for published OSCs.

[Patrice Freymond] "Go by numbers in the inspector ?"

Also a no-go, since the individual points do not have a parameter value. These were not published (for some odd reason). But one could simply go into the Mask filter with Motion and publish the individual position parameters of the four "Crosshair" layers oneself, after which they'd be available in FCPX.

Not with the default masks. Is might be possible by creating a custom mask in Motion. Haven't really tried to do it myself. What specific effect are you trying to accomplish?

Very simple: I need to make straight lines with a mask tool. It seems crazy to me that every apple application uses the same keys (hold the shift key) to lock alignment of things yet FCPX not so!!
