Hi, If anyone has a 'wow' favorite 24-28" monitor recommendation, I'm trying to get something with the best 'quality for dollar' ratio.

A few that I've found at B&H:
NEC EA244WMI 24" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor ($379)

Dell U2412M UltraSharp 24" LED Monitor ($269)

ASUS ProArt PA246Q 24" (Discontinued on B&H site)

The ONLY monitor anyone should buy with thunderbolt is the LG34UM one Bon Zelin was raving about at Nab.

No really. Go look it up. Available in about two weeks. More expensive, but compared to a Cinema Display it is awesome.

John, Thanks for the recommendation. It looks like a winner. However, for a 'off-the-grid weekend spare monitor' I need to keep it simple and much less expensive. Anyone else weighing in?

I have a Dell Ultrasharp 24'' that I bought about 10 years ago for $750. It stills works great! If the new one is anything like the old one, it's definitely worth what they are charging for it now.

HP DreamColor 24" Z24x is cheap.
However its 1920x1080 I do believe.

Im looking at the 27" and its priced under 700 USD.

And a bit more on the tech of the color calibration option

Which model exactly are you talking about? This 27" Dreamcolor here is $1200+

Looks great. I had no idea this existed. I will definitely consider it, but I'm wondering if I really prefer having two discreet displays over one big display. No more being able to hit the "Maximize" window button unless I want the app to take over my entire workspace. And with FCP X, you'd be cutting down on your event space while adding more timeline space. Hmmm.

Now if FCP X had ways to customize the layout...
