Relinking Files

Hi all,

I am taking on a new edit gig and I received the project over the weekend via fedex. It is two libraries. One is projects only, and I was instructed to put it on my local drive under movies. The other is the media library which is now living on my pegasus.

I opened the library with the projects, and everything is offline. I tried reconnecting an event, and I wanted to look in the other library on my pegasus, but it would not let me drill into it. It gave me this message....

Select another folder or file. None of the 62 files are found in this folder

Am I doing this right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Working between libraries like that doesn't work. If you need to use footage from another library FCPX needs to copy it into the library where your project is. You can have your footage and projects organized in different events inside one library.

Its also kind of strange that you were instructed to keep you project library in the movies folder. Everything should be on your Pegasus.

I would open both libraries and copy your projects into the library with the clips. Perhaps that will solve it.

The clips in your footage library are online, right?

Have you tried just importing the files again?
Ive had that happen with a moved Event and it seemed to have linked.
10.1.1 also has a different way of opening closed Events.
Not sure if thats your problem.
Ive been moving projects like crazy of late with or without Event Manager X.
Now with the latest update, dont really need EMX anymore.
