How do I delete effects from the effects browser?
on Apr 12, 2014 at 5:34:20 am

I was trying to see how an affect was created so I right clicked the effect to open it in motion and it automatically made a duplicate of that effect within FCPX, how do I delete the duplicate?

[Pete Johnson] "how do I delete the duplicate?"

Quit FCP X, go to the Motion Templates folder in your Movies folder. poke around in the folders within until you find it (it will be a folder with the Effect Name) and then delete it. Don't move anything else around in there unless you know what you're doing, as it can make things go offline unexpectedly. :-)

Cool... did the same thing when I started poking around in Motion :-)

There is even an easier way.
Open the dupe in Motion click on the title bar to reveal in Finder.
Quit both FCP X and Motion.
Remove in Finder.
