Problem Loading & Exporting Project
on Mar 9, 2014 at 11:24:49 pm

Hey everyone,
So I'm using FCP X 10.0.9 on my Macbook Pro (2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3) on Mavericks and ever since I tried to share my project, FCP crashed and would take over an hour to load back up. I've completely a few other projects without an issue using the same workflow, but now every time I try to export this project it crashes. I've tried replacing the project file with a backup version and I've cleared preferences. I've heard this problem could be caused by too many Compound Clips, but I consolidated my whole music video into one compound clip and thats the only one. Any ideas?

Try trashing render files.

If that doesn't work, try opening the compound and exporting just to see if it works.

I trashed the Render Files as well and that didn't fix anything. I also tried opening up the compound clip and exporting with no success.

Open the compound, select all, copy.

Make a new Library.

Make a new project in the event.

Copy the contents of the compound clip in to the new project.

Can you export?

If not, perhaps a piece of media is corrupt.

Thanks for the quick reply Jeremy. I'm going to try that out when I get a chance tonight and see what happens. I did use Digital Rebellion to see if any of my media was corrupted and no corrupted files were discovered.

Cool.

Let's hope this solves it.
