Weird things on Import

Hi,

some questions concerning import of AVCHD Card Media:

1. If you look at the Pic, I am missing some features in the import window, such as the 2 buttons to choose the layout of the import window, as well as the menu in the lower right in which I can choose about the clip appearance and to hide already imported materials. Why am I missing those things?

2. If I go through all the Clips in the card, and some clips I select entirely, some clips just different sections and some clip I do not set in & outs at all. In the end I select all the clips in the card and press "Import Selceted", but it then also imports the clips that I did not set any ins or outs to. I do not want those to import as well. How can I avoid that?

Thanx a lot.

I should mention the following: What I am looking for is a similar workflow like in FCP7 in the L&T window: I go through all my clips, select ins & outs of the clips or parts of the clips I like and then take it in at once, without import the clips that I did not select. Possible?

It looks like your movies are already converted.

To get the features you are looking for, you'd need to use the original avchd card structure, not the rewrapped quicktimes.

You can't import partial QuickTime movies, just like fcp7.

And a third Q, concerning the same topic: Let's say I have a long clip and I selected multiple in&out points, but at one point I forget to set the in&out with Shift+Command+I, but only I, then I erase all my other Range selections I already made. Is there a way to go back, so I don't have to reselect everything from scratch? Undo does not help in this case. It's rather frustrating, that with one wrong click you can lose a lot of work.

thanx.

You can turn them into favorites. then you don't loose the in and outs. I haven't done it during import yet, but it should work.
