Can't delete compound clips from the Event Browser
on Nov 2, 2013 at 9:59:40 pm

Hi,

I am unable to delete any compound clips from my event library. I see the following error:

I am sure that these compound clips are not currently in use in any project, and I have restarted the application and still can't delete them.

What else can I try to get rid of them?

Thanks,

Nick

I had this. I am fairly certain you will find a little bit of the compound clip in one of your project timelines if you look very carefully.

Thanks. I'm sure the clips are not in use. I have now been led to believe this is a bug. I have hidden all of my projects and still can't delete any clips from events.

All I can say is I had the exact same problem and it drove me nuts and I found one frame from a compound clip in one of my timelines.

May well be different for you.

what would be useful would be a shortcut "reveal in project timeline"

Thanks so much, James. This was driving me crazy because I was sure the clip was not in use. However, when I zoomed into my storyline as much as it would allow, I found a frame from the clip that was previously undetectable. I appreciate your help!

[James Ewart] "what would be useful would be a shortcut "reveal in project timeline""

+1

If Final Cut knows that a clip in use somewhere in a particular Library (even if it isn't in the active Project), it should be possible to identify which Projects are using the clip.

Sending feedback now.
