It's not working how I hoped. Cut some green screen footage, now I want to key it in motion, involving a very small amount of rotoscoping.

Is there a way to get the cut from X into Motion? Dynamic link FCPX/MOtion version?

Thanks!

There's no dynamic link between FCPX and Motion. You can export whatever clips need some roto work with the third party ClipExporter app although it's a bit fiddly and I'll be the first to say it'd be great if Apple gave us an easier way..

if there's no masking/Rotao work then the keyer in FCPX is the same as the one in motion so there's very little advantage in sending it there.

Clip Exporter: http://clipexporter.mindtransplant.com (also lets you send your project to After Effects)

Also check out SliceX, it will be equipped with Mocha soon.
