Thinning out an event
on Mar 27, 2013 at 10:29:36 pm

Hey guys,

I want to reduce an event that has proxy and optimized media created. I should just be able to delete the proxy media folder inside the event when done, right? We normally work outside with referenced media but we had a one-off where we kept it all inside, so I'm just making sure I don't wreck the whole thing :).

Thanks!

Yeah, you can delete them.

If you have been working Proxy, though, you have to change your prefs back otherwise it appears offline.

If you are making a copy of the project to just work in proxy, you can actually just copy everything but the original media folder in the event and that will still work. (!)

We worked in proxy but I'm going to provide the 'client' (ok it was a friends wedding) the originals only inside an event. We optimized and created proxy which turned the original project into a gigantic monster.

Thanks guys!

OK, one more. If I want to get rid of the optimized and just provide the source footage (H264), if I delete the high quality media will all comps revert to the original? We have proxy unchecked but I don't see an option to use original, it's just 'use original or optimized'.

Yep.

I concur. In fact that is just what I do to archive a project.
