I don't care how it happens...I need to get edited footage from adobe premiere into FCPX.

XML is greyed out
all exported files will not play in FCPX (I've even tried to export as pro res in adobe as it is on a mac...only audio, no video)

I can't understand why if something is exported as a ProRes file that is won't play in FCPX.

Does anyone have a work flow out there?

[adam chesbrough] "I don't care how it happens...I need to get edited footage from adobe premiere into FCPX. "

Purchase 7toX for Final Cut Pro (Mac App Store) from Intelligent Assistance.

Export Premiere Pro XML. Import into FCP 7 and export an FCP 7 XML. This step may be unnecessary, but often improves the translation. Import that XML into 7toX (or import the PPro XML directly). Send it to FCP X. The edited sequence will show up as a compound clip in a keyword collection within the Event.

Are you saying that the media files you use in Premier can't be imported into FCP X? Are those files playable in Quicktime X?

Premier can play several formats that FCP X can't. Thusly you might need to transcode.

If you just need to export your complete show, you might try a different codec. Perhaps something is becoming corrupted with the ProRes files. Try PhotoJPEG, or even uncompressed.

Do you also have Motion and/or Compressor installed on this machine? I believe that's needed in order to write ProRes files, not just FCP X. But I could be wrong.
