how can you create this effect some sort of ghost effect? starts at 8 seconds when he's in the mirror

To get you started:

Duplicate the portion of your clip where you want the ghosting to occur. Add it directly on top of the original clip (command-c to copy, alt-v to connect to the storyline)

Slip it forward or backwards a few frames. Change the opacity of the top clip to around 50%.

If you have Motion 5 it has a Trail Effects that will do what you want. If you don't have it, Google "Trail Effect for FCPX" and see what pops up.
