Currently looking to upgrade the GPU on MaC Pro for use with Resolve along side FCPX as well.

Specs:
Mid 2012 5,1
12 Gb memory
Mac OS Sierra
Three internal drives, two set up as RAID 0
Resolve 14 Studio (beta)
Final Cut Pro X, Motion and Compressor all most recent version

Thank you in advance.

I image most people will say get the GTX 1080 Ti but the AMD Vega cards will be out soon if you can wait a little longer to see which one offers the best bang for the buck.

For FCPX, AMD GPUs often provide better performance. But since you are also using Resolve that makes the decision more complicated.

FCPX will work best with a AMD RX480 8GB, which will also fair well in Resolve from my research, about as good as a Titan X from this forum post:

Keep in mind that is a hackintosh and the AMD card has some bugs in it. Speed is not everything.
