[Herb Sevush] "Nice article"

Indeed. Although I wish the interviewee had elaborated on the hardware the film's editors used. He may not have been authorized to discuss it, though.

They used MacPro Tubes. Five edit stations. And during the editing process they KILLED 10 of them. Fried them. Issue with the D700 graphics card that is a known issue and Apple is now addressing.

Mainly shot at 3.5K with the Alexa, but with some 4K Phantom and 6K Red in the mix. All conformed to ProRes LT at 2048x1152 (2K).

I was at the screening and panel that Adobe had on Saturday.

The modern spirit of debate seems to rely on the extraction of a controversial soundbite from its surrounding context. Therefore, presented for your consideration:

"At the end of the day, every NLE is pretty much the same in terms of functionality - marking in, marking out, trimming, all that kind of stuff - but they wanted to stay ahead of the curve. They wanted to go with an NLE [Premiere Pro] that was on the cutting edge of technology and always staying ahead of the curve, but also embracing everything that is there currently."
