Can't really blame the NLE for that... It's not a software issue, it the "wetware" ;-)

That isn't a Ppro issue. That's an editor issue.

And producer issue...and online issue...for no one seeing that.

So what you're saying is... it's really a mac vs PC issue. Are you accusing HP workstations of unfairly mismanaging the edit!? :p

I think I may add that as a feature request for "duration" in the timeline index, that way you could see any 1 or 2 frame edits in the list.

Good request, but I doubt that's what happened here. In fact, I know what happened even though I had nothing to do with it. The source of that section is a cut feature or trailer, so it's an existing cut that got missed (the clip was 1 frame too long or slipped one frame). The online editor/QC should have caught that.

Don't ask me how I know... ;-)

Reminds me of the days offlining from interlaced masters or worst, transcoded masters, on an Avid where all you could display was a field...

when onlining one had to catch not only frames but sometimes fields gone astray...

Good old days ;-)

Bear in mind I've seen things go to AIR that said MEDIA OFFLINE...both the Avid version of that, and FCP. AIR! How many layers of QC did that stuff get through?

Hi Leo,
Thanks for noticing this. We'll get a fix on this right away. Obviously, this has nothing to do with our software. All good, though. ;-)

Sure, I know that. But I guess they should take a look at the movie before publishing it.
It's just a little bit of humor, but I still prefer FCPX over PPro.

Hi Kevin, as you're here I'd like to say how impressed I've been with the latest version of PPro CC.

Every year I have a major event project that I've been cutting in various NLE's including Avid, DVision, FCP7 and more recently FCPX. The show is 120 minutes long with about 150 hours of source material on XDCam, DSLR and GoPro footage.

This year I decided to try it on PPro 2014 and I have to say it's been faultless, I only have a 2008 Mac Pro with Ati7950 card and PP has been very fast in timeline operation and encoding. All the way through the project it never crashed once, even after the upgrade last week.

I know other people have been having issues but for me it's been a great experience and will probably tempt me away from FCP X every now and again.

Steve,
Great to hear that you had no trouble with a big sequence with lots of sources. Should you ever have any issues, check out the Premiere Pro forum or visit us at the Adobe forums.

Thanks for the report. Now back to your regular scheduled programming.

I knew it had been a while, so I looked it up: May 2002! I think that counts as "for years." :-)

Been too long since I said it, but I'll say it again: thanks for everything!

How strange that someone from a company that makes an NLE would keep an eye on a forum where people discuss NLEs...

I bet an examination of the web logs would show a lot of avid, apple, and blackmagicdesign.com domains too. Maybe they're just not as fearless as the adobe folks. ;-)

LOL. Explain what? You explain what you need me to explain, and if you need me to explain that--well, I have no explanation.
