Everyone can start switching over to it now! Finally.

This is the year of Resolve 11 on the Linux Desktop.

[Gary Huff] "Everyone can start switching over to it now! Finally"

You think? I see it as simply a finishing tool that will get used only when needed. I will have it at some point, but there is no need to rush (unless you just have to have tracks!).

Or perhaps you'd prefer Resolve's trimming and key framing capabilities. That's reason enough to take a look.

R11 has some nice features, and for those who can't live without tracks, it will be a great option. It's still very much a beta though... :-)

Time for a "Resolve 11 Or Not Debate For NLE" forum?

When I can play back 4K Canon Log footage in realtime on my 2 yr old iMac, like I already can in FCPX, THEN I would consider using Resolve as an editing tool.

You should follow me on Twitter here. My latest work

Is FCPX actually playing the log footage or a sneaky background optimised render? Yes da Vinci does want some grunt under the hood to process grading so if you want to use it as an edit with grade tool you will need graphics grunt.

I think too many people are jumping to the conclusion that this is a primary edit toll rather than a work in progress finishing tool with terrific edit functionality that will sit on bigger iron, more often Linux & Windows not iMacs or laptops.
