App Store not seeing Final Cut Pro X store purchase.
This is uniformly a UNRELIABLE way to make a professional purchase. While Motion and Compressor show INSTALLED, Final Cut Pro still shows the price. Going to my Purchase history does not show the purchase for any of the three Apps. I now can't risking installing them on a second computer.
Additionally, if I go to Purchased in the App Store, none of the three apps show as purchased.
Apple does not provide live App Store purchase support. I had to fight like hell (avoid answering any of their automated phone support questions) to get to a live Customer Service Rep. After explaining the details, they had no recommendation beyond, "Use email support for App Store purchases." After telling them that wasn't acceptable, especially for a supposed Pro App from someone who must do additional installs. they've escalated and I'm waiting for a call back.
I like the potential of FCPX but even if it were ready to go as a professional NLE, this is simply NOT the way a facility can trust making a purchase for multiple seats.
As a side note, when I made the purchase, my credit card called me to confirm that it was legit because they were suspicious of a $300 iTunes purchase. Apparently Apple's info to the credit card companies indicates it as an iTunes purchase and they were rightfully unsure that someone was making a $300 music download.
Sheesh. It's UNBELIEVABLE how poorly thought out this is by Apple management. Yes, people should be fired for the poor handling. No I'm not talking about any issue with FCPX itself as that's up to the programmers. This is probably singularly the worst handled roll out in Apple's history. Far worse then MobilMe which was not a "mission critical" program.
So you've have this issue as well?
Keep in mind I can't authorize the machine if it doesn't show that I've made the purchase. It's the feature of the App Store that supposedly makes pirating so difficult. As far as the App Store is concerned. I have not purchased it, therefore I can not authorize it on other machines through my Apple ID.
In fact on the first call back from Apple they asked me to try to authorize the machine through iTunes and there's no change. My Apple ID shows I have not purchased it.
