Craig, could you throw a bit of detail in as well, what was it shot on? how much material? Did the database crumble before your very eyes? etc

[Steve Connor] "Did the database crumble before your very eyes? etc"

Of course it didn't...it's a simple interview.

I want to hear from people trying to cut one-hour reality shows in it.

[Gary Huff] "I want to hear from people trying to cut one-hour reality shows in it."

I've cut a feature film with 2000 clips and two 90 minute event films with 100 hours of material and the database wasn't an issue at all, does that count?

Fair point, Ive cut over 10 hrs of Broadcast critical content in FCPX since October, Yes simple interviews, (lets not worry about crafting a coherent story, I guess that doesn't count) but also actuality, essays and authored stories. All with tight deadlines, i.e. start editing today because its on air next week.
My experience, I repeat my experience, not based on articles about databases, is that FCPX "Just Works" Fact. Please share your real life experience Gary re FCPX not working on your 1 hour reality program.
For instance you worked out the workflow, you had sufficient skill and knowledge of the software, you had the right gear and then 2 days into the edit the software failed you. Can you please share that experience. Cheers

Sorry Craig but this isn't a user forum, in fact it's a forum and probably the only forum on the COW where actual users are regularly derided as fanboys or Apple lovers, real world experience doesn't count here.

Hi Greg,

Was there any post (CG, sound) outside FCP X done?

Craig,

Nice to see FCPX is working for you. I'm having great success with it here, making clients happy.

I'm reminded of a slogan from my long ago science fiction fandom teenage years, before SF was considered respectable:

"SF's no good", they holler 'til we're deaf.
"But this is good!" "Well, then, it's not SF!"

Sigh.

Best,
John

Aindreas, will remind us it doesn't count because it wasn't actually edited in London.

Salford itself is apparently moving to Fife.

Sorry error, 10pm Tonight not 10:30. See attention to detail, that's why they pay me the big bucks

Don't worry, since the advent of iPlayer, time no longer exists

Especially since an iCould sync will not update you and might delete your appointments/reminders.

My schedule is now wide open.

Free time!

This does seem to explain why my synced Bookmarks go missing about once a week, which requires a reboot every time.

Just works.

Great edit Craig,

I'd forgotten how many great films Danny Boyle has made. And thanks for uploading the screenshot of the timeline, makes it all look quite easy!

What I like about the programme is that it allows a lot of space to take a look at the topic, quite unusual these days. With Newsnight Review being shoved over to BBC4 and just once a month I think that the the Culture Show will gain a larger audience.
