Just a note to people if you haven't noticed yet, background rendering will stop if you are skimming anything. The S key is the new command-R.

I noticed this when I had background tasks open and rendering kept pausing itself.

Background rendering pauses on any user interaction, to keep the app as responsive as possible. You can set how quickly it resumes after interaction in Preferences. (The default is five seconds.)

This is somewhat similar to how the Render Cache works in DaVinci Resolve.
