Very cool - I've got an external eSATA raid and a bunch of eSATA drives so anxious to hear how it goes...

I was on the notify list and as soon as I go the email, I jumped over and ordered it from my phone! Stoked to be able to use all this esata gear I've got on joy MacPro rig with my new MBP and FCP X!

And there is a new 10,000 rpm Esata drive out...it has been a while (Ultra SCSI) since I've seen 10k drives. Excellent fast access drives.

- supports eSATA II speeds (3Gb/s
- not locked to LaCie eSATA devices
- approx 225MB/sec with LaCie 4big w/7200 RPM drives
- Encryption not supported in d2, 2big, or 4big with Enterprise drives
- these existing Lacie products supported:
+ d2 Quadra USB 2.0*
+ d2 Quadra USB 3.0
+ 2big Quadra
+ 4big Quadra
+ Big Disk Quadra
+ Little Big Disk Quadra
+ Rugged XL
+ Hard Disk (MAX) by Neil Poulton Quadra

* firmware update needed for d2 Quadra w/eSATA/USB2/FireWire; will be available at lacie.com

Not supported: Other non-listed LaCie eSATA drives

An FAQ will be available soon on the lacie.com website

Too bad I got the email today that they are out of stock already and won't be shipped for possibly weeks. Sucks because I ordered it within only 10 minutes after getting the email that it was available for order. I told them to keep the order active and keep me towards to top of the list so I can report back here! ;-)

Kinda disappointing considering how quickly I placed the order and got confirmation but I'll be patient.
