From the Magma site:

"External Graphics

There is an interoperability issue with MacOS using graphics (GPU) cards externally through Thunderbolt. Unfortunately, external graphics solutions for MacOS X do not work and we do not expect a resolution from Apple in the short term. We realize that external graphics support is a feature that many users want so we’ll let you know if this changes. For the time being our recommendation may be to run Windows using Boot Camp, but this is not yet confirmed as a working solution.

[James Mortner] "Does this mean no I/O cards either ?"

It probably means exactely what it meant for regualr pci expansion boxes in the past: some stuff will work, some won't, there will be issues, revised drivers, certain incompatibilities, reduced performance, etc. Which is why it was never really a 100 per cent statisfactory solution.
Enjoy!

Isn't how Windows boxes work?

(sorry, couldn't resist)

Spot on, Kevin. Of course with the exception of GPUs in a break-out box via Apple co-developed TB which will apparently only work with windows and won't work on OSX at all.

(Couldn't resist, either.)

James, did you read the link?

Kona 3G is ready.

So products like the Kona 3G work. But external graphics don't. (or have issues that may not be resolved in the short term)

To me, that seems like it might not be possible to use a CUDA product for those who want to also use Adobe products. Or am I missing something?

Right now the article says that a Kona 3G and a couple of SAS and fibre cards work.

The GPU limitation is an OSX problem with no fix in sight, accept to use bootcamp.

Not entirely true as I can use a PCI Express expander to do this.

So the only AJA card that works is the 3G? If so, that won't help much...

Might be the only one listed/tested so far. The AJA drivers say that all of them are Thunderbolt aware since a few drivers ago.

Time will tell.

I'm certainly hoping for that...

Windows supports Thunderbolt better than OSX... priceless!

The fact that graphics cards are a no go in OSX via Thunderbolt gives me hope that a proper MacPro will be released.
