Get FCP X as soon as it's available. It was built on Snow Leopard, which is a 100% stabile base. Lion is bound to have a few kinks initially, so there's certainly no reason to wait for it.

See my tutorial about preparing for both FCP X and Lion, it will show you how to have it all.

Thank u so much David for the tutorial,it's really informative , elegantly arranged and just what I was looking for!I wish u can follow it up with how to install the OSX Lion on the third partition(when it's released),because in the OSX Snow Leopard case you just cloned it from the " Macintosh HD",and I wondering how to install the OSX Lion on the empty partition!

Sorry if this is an IT related question, but I thought I'd ask since we are at it!

First, thanks so much for your kind words Samir. As far as the download and install of Lion, that's a bit of a mystery at this point. So far, the most we know so far is that the latest update of Snow Leopard will be required in advance in order to make the purchase from the App Store. However, exactly how it works has not yet been explained. As soon as I know, I'll be posting an update to my tutorial here on the Cow that incorporates detailed instructions for making it work with the multi-boot partition scheme I've configured.

Until then, good luck...

David

Took your advice on preparation. Bought a 1TB Seagate drive for $49. and threw it it to the Mac Pro. Partitioned it in three segments. Followed the steps and bingo, ready and waiting. Thanks DRW.

You're very welcome Peter, and good job, at least there are two of us who are ready to rumble so far. Now, if Apple would just pull the darned trigger...

Great to know I'm appreciated downunder Alex, and very happy to be of assistance to you personally. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope X and Lion are both real winners.
