I'm so excited about this. It will be the first time in my life that I will be able to afford an actual phone support contract. Imagine being even hardware independent. Great. Even tho there is no Mac version yet, I think I will become a member of this They support my matrox!!! We need to support this initiative, really.
Very interesting. Especially nice to see a public roadmap. They are freer to do this than most, since they don't have the disclosure restrictions constraints of a publicly traded company, but still, I love open source and open communication.
Funny enough, I was actually looking at that yesterday. It's interesting to see the long list of big budget films that have used Lightworks. It's double the number of films cut on Final Cut Pro and it includes many of my favorite movies. I had no idea.
When I was reading some of the spotlight articles I also realized Avid is following in Editshare's footsteps by heavily integrating the MC Transport control surface in Media Composer. Here's some of the features I can't wait to see:
- Node based compositing
- ALE import
- Tangent Element support
- Blackmagic support
- Project sharing
