Importing Not Complete - Clip Preview not working
on Aug 9, 2011 at 11:17:43 am

I was importing some clips into FCP X when I had to leave I closed FCP X assuming that the Transcoding/Analysing coudl be complete later. I have tried selecting the files and right click to select transcode but they simply sit at 0%. So now I cannot scrup these clips to select the media I want as all I get is a still image for each clip.

So you expect that the transcoding is going to magically happen when the application is not running?

Did you try sprinkling some fairy dust on that too?

:)
Seriously. An application needs to be "open" in order to "work".

David.

Well David you must not get out much as your social skills leave a lot to be desired. I know it will not run if the app is closed, but I am trying to get it to run now I have it restarted as I said and you obviousely have a problem reading. When I went back in and selected the files and tried to run it again it didn't work.

Though someone with the issues you obviously have may not have picked that up...

But it sound like the import was not completed when you closed off the clip and the application.

Plus I used a smilely face to indicate that I was making a joke.

I'm a good reader. I read a lot.

Analysis and transcoding can be done later. Select all the clips and then use the menu function analyze.

Of course it can be done after the fact. But if the clips weren't there then they had not completed the import.
