The idea is a cloud based open source editor. I have no doubt that this project was started way before the FCPX launch, but from reading the info on the kickstart it seems like a lot of the kickstart campaign is sort of based around negative reactions to FCPX

Problem I see is it's trying to be touted as a Modern Professional Editor, but only supports HDSLR cameras, and really only Canon HDSLR cameras.
I think there's some really good foundational concepts here, but it just seems really limited in it's scope.
