I'm a video guy that needs to buy a flash for a Canon 50D DSLR as a gift for a friend. I don't know much about still cameras in general and was hoping for some advice of what will work well for him.
He's not a pro photographer and doesn't need anything super high end. He's a hobbyist and will mostly use it for family events, vacations, etc...
Name brand isn't too important so long as it's compatible with his camera. I just don't want to buy him a piece of junk. If I can get something for under $100 bucks that would be great. If I'm nuts and really need to spend more, please tell me. I don't know what I don't know.
