sorry silly question:
"apple I" doesn't show shutter speed. Neither does FCP. Is there a way to find out what shutter speed/iso etc I used ?

All metadata (shutter, iso, lens, aperture, ...) of your clips are stored in the .thm files. You can read them with any exif-viewer that accepts .thm files.

Right.
Nothing that FC (or any other QT based application) can read at the moment.

Understanding that your workflow is your workflow and everyone has the right to work as they like...

I will note that this is one reason that the concept of making DISK IMAGES of cards coming back from the field is so popular with many DSLR shooters.

When you upack a Disk Image, you recreate the EXACT state of the memory card when it came out of the camera. That means ALL the original data including the .thm files are intact.

I've found this to be an EXCELLENT habit to get into and much easier to archive than dragging loose folders of dozens of separate clip files around.

For what it's worth...

Bill, that's a great idea! Disk-images. Very simple, but effective.
Thanks a lot for bringing that up!
