If not mistakes all dslr cameras are 4:2:0 unless it is specified.

The $12,000 Canon 1D C records 4K 4:2:2 and 1080p 4:2:0

The $995 Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and $1995 Cinema Camera record ProRes 4:2:2 in addition to RAW (which can be output to 4:4:4).

All other 8 bit DSLRs and Panasonic DSLMs record to 4:2:0 color space, which is why I bought a RAW camera :)

Cheers,

The 14-bit RAW capabilities added to the 5D Mark III (through the use of magic lantern) make this debate much more complex than simply comparing colour sampling ratios.

I don't want to get into all the complexities of the debate unnecessarily, but it is worth doing some research on the topic. There are many footage comparisons available that show the 14-bit raw having a greater dynamic range than the BM cam.

Colour sampling alone does not necessarily mean the better image.

Cheers
