OT: I just started doing a video shoot, happily filled my two 32GB CF cards on my EOS 5DMkII, and went to offload to my hdd. Of course my card reader just died. Earlier I thought, "pins is pins, all card readers must be the same, so why shell out $$ for a pro-grade reader?" -- but apparently that was bad logic?
So apparently there is more involved than just pins? I want to replace with a pro-grade card reader, but is it appropriate to ask why "pro-grade" card readers are necessary? And if so, why do the expensive ones also get middlin' reviews?
(And does anyone have any recommendations for durability, and quality? I don't want to get hung on a shoot again. Thanks.)
