Multi Camera 5D Mark II/III Interview

Hi All,

I am doing a shoot utilizing 2 5D Mark II's and 1 5D Mark III. The shoot is of a roundtable discussion. We will be able to accommodate stopping the conversation for slates at the end of 12min rolls.

My big question is syncing the cameras for multi-camera editing in post. What is are some low/no-budget techniques to accomplish this? Feel free to just post links to sites.

Thanks!
-Randy

Start the cams rolling pointing to the middle of the table, walk in, put you hands in the center of the frame and clap your hands once. Line that up on your sequence.

Use a slate if you need to look more pro, $50. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/854289-REG/ikan_ts01_Tablet_Productio...

Software like Pluraleyes. http://www.singularsoftware.com/pluraleyes.html

Personally I use a physical slate; 3 cams you have set up wouldn't see an iPad slate.

Yep, thanks. Just read up a bit more on multi-cam editing and seems doable. I'll be slating and either manually syncing in Avid or using PluralEyes.

With DSLRs nothing beats slating. Higher-end cameras have genlock.

Use a slate. This is a basic skill that everyone should know.
