suggestions for wireless camera transmitters and receiver

Hi all -

Broadcasting some sports and other live events in outdoor settings, using Panasonic P2s and Sony HD cameras.

I would love some suggestions for mid-range priced wireless transmitters for the cameras that would send back to receivers in a small broadcast truck.

We are hard-wiring all the cameras right now, and I would love to have at least one roaming on wireless.

We also have a Chyron unit in the truck that uses an aircard for Internet.
Would the wireless signal interfere with this or vice versa?

Thanks in advance

CKS

I go this one and, for the price, works fine. I agree with the pros and cons of this review.

Buy Lectrosonic gear, you'll be so glad you did, industry standard, top notch quality, fail safe, high quality, all things you want on a shoot.

Hey guys, I don't think wireless AUDIO is what Carly was asking about. If I'm understanding the question she's asking about the far more obscure (ie.- expensive) world of wireless transmission and reception of the camera's video feed. I too would like to know more about this, if even for monitoring rather than live use.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? (In my best Ben Stein impersonation.)

I have been looking into this for the last 2 years at NAB. Depending on your requirments there are a couple of decient options i have seen.

1st that comes to mind is the Camwave by IDX its got a range of 100 feet and its around $5000

Hitachi now makes a camera adaptor for one of their cameras called the SKHD 1000

I have also seen a couple of other venders, but there prices are quite steap sitting in the 30,000 to 50,000 range for equipment that transmits video signal and also sends back shading and iris from a RCP.

I would suggest the CW-5HD from IDX or contact RF Central and check out their broadcast products used for major sporting events.
