Anyone know if the Sony HXRMC2000 is any good. I've been reading all day and it seems that people have good things to say about it, but I haven't heard much about the downsides. I know the sensor is small and the manual controls are all touch screen, so that isn't great, but let me tell you why I'm asking.

We shoot an outdoor reality tv show and we require the participants (10 people) on the show to buy their own cameras. They are all beginners when it comes to filming. I want a shoulder mount HD camera for around $2,000. We tried a smaller camera last season and people couldn't keep them steady. We also want to be sure we can record to SD cards.

Is this the right choice or is this a big mistake? Our production crew will be shooting on the Sony VG-10 (interviews and broll during the season). We will likely be shooting in 30p. The cameras they use will shoot in 60i. The final delivery is required to be in 60i.

Thanks so much in advance for any info or advice.
Joey
