What do you recommend – I am going to film an interview in camera with SONY HVR A1E Camera that has 2 XLR inputs with phantom power so need 2 wired lavalier mics broadcast quality - such as Shure SM93 wired Condenser Microphone Or I use a ONE hand held mic like a Beyer Dynamic M88TG I want to keep costs lows but avoid clothes noise on the mic or if hand held, loosing sound volume if mic too far from speaker

If I use one mic I can leave the oncamera mic plugged in for background location sound if needed as I do not have a mobile sound mixer but am worried a hand held will look dated so welcome your advice on what you would buy

Most of my work is in studio Voice and not sure how many in camera videos I am going to be recording I have caution re costs

It is indoors in a hotel conference room
which will be empty, so may have some echo issues as few carpets
This interview will be mid way in the video and either side commentary from me recording in studio on an RODE NT1A

Id add, presuming that a sound recordist to drop a short rifle in just out of shoyt is not possible, as this would be best overall

How many people do you want to record at the same time?
Are you locked off on a tripod or going hand held?
Do you have the budget for wireless or only wired mics, do you want to purchase or rent?
Are you working alone or with someone who can handle a mic & boom?

If you have two tracks, use both of them! Always use different mics as something can always happen to one of them and you may not catch it in the field.

I normally have the person being interviewed wear a lavalier, then have a shotgun microphone on a boom stand just out of frame.
