how do I get rid of file extentions when burning a mp3 CD?
on Jan 28, 2013 at 12:00:20 am

I am using Mountain Lion OSX CD burner to make a bunch of mp3s on CD for my car. When I delete the file extension (.mp3) from the file, it shows up again after the name of the artist and song on my CD player.

Is there a way to have artist - song, not (artist-song-.)mp3

I have tried using toast and it doesn't even show the track info after I burn.

Hi
Id think not.
Every file has to have an extension. Thats how the computer / device knows what it is and how to deal with it.

Id think its the software of your car cd player that displays that data you dont want, rather than a fault or adjustment you can make with the file.

While there may (by chance) be some people here who can help you with that question, it is WAY off-topic for this forum. Certainly there must be Mac forums that would be appropriate for this kind of question. If I was a Mac person I would either answer your question or direct you to an appropriate forum.
