Hello,

An essential tool in live/radio but I cannot find a software solution for this.

For today's USB-Mic driven podacsts, this is a missing link to that punchy, well-leveled broadcast.

Can anyone recommend a solution?

Thanks!

Hello Ervin and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

The only one I'm familiar with is the Neumann Solution D system which is very high end.

Check this out: http://tyfordaudiovideo.blogspot.com/

There may be others.

Thanks Ty!

yes, that's pretty high end. Someone lead me to this tool>> http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/us/products/striptool/striptool.htm

I will give it a try.

So, Is it true that any typical plugin applications can do live processing?

Ervin,

The problem is latency; the time it takes for the signal to get processed. Electricity goes through hardware at nearly the speed of light. With software, computers are getting faster and faster, but there is usually some delay. If you're not tracking live, it doesn't matter. That's why, for example, you can't record with Pro Tools with effects unless you get the more expensive system with hardware processing.

I don't see anything in the link you sent that says you can use it to record with effects. A pre-mix is the combination of tracks so they can be handled more simply in productions with lots of tracks.

Please let us know how that works out for you.

I still have not tried it.

Seriously, I strongly feel that this is a must for every podcaster..audio and video! I have a lot of favorite channels that could really improve their audio BIG TIME!

I hope someday..a company would create a software that can do just this...Even a simple hardware solution that is affordable and intuitive. I am looking at something like the ART TubePac, with a USB port!

MOre power!

Oh, in that case, get a dbx 286a. Run your mic through it and into a USB thingee and be done with it!

I'm using something a bit different for the shows I produce.

Here's an example

hi,
Just revisiting the thread.
Any new/affordable toys recently that can help our independent podcasters with their audio dynamics?
