I'm curious what any of you would recommend for a good set of monitoring speakers. They would be used primarily for editing video (independent shorts and features) and the occasional pop music production, recording, mixing, and mastering.

I'm sure you will all ask price range. But that's always a trick question for me. While I don't have a big studio budget, I won't buy something that won't get the job done. So I'm looking for something high quality, but economically price, whatever that may be.

Hello Steve and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

If you're in it for the long haul, it pays to get the good stuff.

You may not want to shoot for the Event Opals I use at $3k a pair

But look (and listen) hard at.

Adam Audio A7X 7 150W 2-Way Nearfield Studio Monitor
Genelec 1030
Mackie 824
K&H 0110 with sub, or 0300 no sub required
Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A
JBL somewhere in the LSR line with acoustic room measurement. JBL LSR-4328
