Pro Tools 8 is crashing my Windows 7
on Nov 16, 2010 at 9:16:54 pm

I recently bought a HP desktop. It has an AMD II X4 635 processor 2.90hz. 6gigs of Ram. 620gig hard drive. And windows 7 64bit. I am running Pro Tools 8 on it. I have done a full re-install of PT8 as well as searched other forums for any answers. The machine has no problem running other programs such as reason. This machine should not have any problem running PT8. The machine is loaded with HP's current basic software. Is there any compatibility issues I may be overlooking or any settings I have to adjust prior to launching PT? Any information is greatly appreciated!

Hello Cameron and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

You'll get much better response over at the Digidesign DUC. They deal with demons all the time. That's where I go when my PTLE system misbehaves.

Pro Tools requires certain basics to work properly. Maybe start here: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=353265
