Looking for a decent <$200 receiver
on Apr 9, 2010 at 3:49:55 pm

I just bought a pair of KRK RP8G2 Active Studio Monitors. I have a really old receiver that I want to upgrade to something decent, less than $200 if possible. Right now the set up will be mainly be used for music listening and video editing from my macbook, but eventually I might want to hook up a monitor, blu-ray player, etc. Any suggestions?

receiver...as in AM/FM tuner and amp?

Not quite sure what you mean by the term. The KRKs don't need an amp (or receiver). They do need a mixer or preamp to feed them the correct levels. A mixer would provide the best options for other gear such as Blu-Ray and DVD inputs

Not much in the professional realm for under $200 though. This might be your best bet:
