B3 CountryMan Mic/Lav & Rigging!

I was wondering about the B3 CountryMan Mic/Lav and the experience any one has had with it when using the on a movie/film production..

is it the best mic to use with low noise after it's rigged on the actor?
what would you suggest be better +0 db for general speaking or -10 db for speaking and vocals?

if I buy the white does it make sense to color it instead of buying separate colors? what is best to color them?

is there a video/book/website or long distance tutorial on how to rig lavs?

I know in threads ppl can be sarcastic and say just go to school to learn how to rig...just the other day i saw great dvds on camera movements which is so i mean i've searched but for some reason there is not much in audio when it comes to teaching how rig...

I will pay $$!

Thanks for any future Replies!

Hi Myriam-

Here are some sites to check out: - they have tutorials on micing incl. lavs - they have one on rigging lavs

"Location Audio Simplified" available at
Ty has a book as well, but I haven't gotten my hands on it yet :o)

Try this site he has a couple of free videos on hiding lavs, also the book mentioned is very good. No mater what your source, it takes practice just like anything else

Good luck

These links might deal a little more with theatrical/stage rigging for mics, but some of the tips could be handy.

Useful Links for Wireless Microphones
Bright & Loud: Techniques for Microphone Placement
ControlBooth: Wireless Mic Rigging

The other advice provided has been very beneficial to me - I could use more info, as well.
