I am been a film sound editor/mixer for a couple years and have been using the same ol' sound fx libaries that every film school and music technology program seems to have (sound ideas general series, BBC, hollywood edge etc).
Has anyone investigated into the more recent sound fx libraries, especially the surround and hi-def libraries like blastwave fx or iguana kitchen's libraries? Worth the investment?
Of course I'd prefer to record my own, but alas, budget and time do not allow for that...
I'm sure you have, but do consider resources such as the freesound database or soundsnap... They are of varied quality but have some interesting stuff. I haven't listened to the Iguana Kitchen ones yet, but their 'Death to Mike' library looks awesome :)
