Does anyone know of a circuit to power the condenser mic from a multi media headset?
I wish to run the mic as a talkback mic and will need to power via batteries this i know...
Or can 48v phantom be tricked down to get the 3v needed for the mic?
Here's the problem. Phantom Power is applied to both sides of a balanced mic, and not to the ground. Multimedia mics are generally unbalanced. If you apply Phantom Power to the shield and hot lead, you'll toast the mic.
You need a mic with a balanced output to use Phantom Power properly. The Countryman E6 with XLR termination will work fine
I am aware that a multi media headset is unbalanced ... I was just wondering if anyone has come up with a (48v phantom to 3v unbalanced adaptor)...
I have in my kit a (48v phantom to 12v T power adaptor) its just a bit tricky to get open to see whats inside....
The countryman E6 looks good but i may need 20 of them, but not that sort of budget.
