wireless into mac

I've been asked for a suggestion on how to best to capture a wireless feed into a mac. This will be in an auditorium setting, and the wireless will be feeding into a mixer apparently, they are actually wondering how to feed directly from the mixer into a mac. Is there a specific software that would be best for this? Thanks.

Lynne

soundtrack pro works. There are a bunch of apps.

If SMPTE time code is important, Boom Recorder is a very nice app.

So how exactly does one capture audio using that program? I use final cut pro, and I capture audio off of dv tape, or with a camera pass-through with firewire. With an audio program can you capture directly using the mic input on the computer? Or will they need some type of firewire setup from the mixer? Sorry for sounding like a dope!

Check out the Digidesign Mbox2. It gives you 2 inputs. And you get Protools LE with it.

Hello Marguu,

You don't stipulate which program I referred to; Soundtracck Pro or Boom Recorder.

Assuming you mean Soundtrack Pro, I believe you would NOT use firewire. You would use Apple system or USB. You have to have the right settings in the audio panels for that. It's a bit too complicated to answer, but I'm pretty sure the info is in the FCP/Soundtrack book.
