Hi,

I'm going to be shooting a workout video in a large warehouse. Audio is an issue. To cut down on sound reflection/reverb, what kind of lav should I use for the workout instructor. He's going to be speaking loudly, only amplifying the problem. Would a super cardioid lav be the way to go?

Any "sound advice" is appreciated!

Thanks,
Jeff

I would go with a Countryman headset. Your biggest issue with a lav would be clothing noise with that much movement.

You basically want something very close, and well attached.

The headset is a good idea. Make sure that it is a Hyper or Super cardioid.

I agree, the Countryman or DPA head worn mics.
Some head worn mics attach to one ear and some to both ears.
They can be flesh colored and they sound great.

check out 4088-F mics at DPA.

If it is a hyper or super, be very careful with positioning. Those patterns are more pop sensitive.

It'll have to be back on the cheek a bit.
