Looking for an inexpensive digital audio recorder. I will be recording mainly voices with it in a conference setting. I would like to be able to plug two boundary mics into it so two xlr inputs are necessary. Other than that I am open to suggestions. Any ideas?

We've used the Marantz PMD 670 for 2 years with no problems:

But you may want to consider....

I would also add to that list the ZOOM H4. I use it to record SFX (@ 96khz) for a post house building its own library and have recorded with it almost every day for the past two weeks since purchasing (with both the internal and external mics) and have not been disappointed in the sonic quality. It has 2 XLR inputs and provides phantom power.

I was very skeptical before buying (because its from Samson) but have so far been thrilled with its value. It goes for $250-300...

Video without audio is just surveillance.
