mackie DFX12 12 Input 8 Channel Mixer?

I am looking into a mackie DFX12 12 Input 8 Channel Mixer. http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemPos=16&TempID=7&STRID=112333...

I am a vo actor with a neumann TLM 103, MBOX1 and also edit with FCP. My night job is a guitarist and I want to see if this board can be used for all occasions. I know it is a low end price, but does it have the circuity to run my TLM-103 without a lot of noise?

You can use this Mackie... and any other Mackie... all great mixers.

The Mackie 1202 VLZ costs less but will work great, too.

OTOH, If you want to save a LOT of money and use your mic, look at these:

Also check out the Yamaha MG series mixers. They are very close in price to the Behringers but, in my opinion, a much better mixer. I own, or have owned, all three brands mentioned. The new Mackie product is not as reliable as the earlier, U.S. made product, and the Behringer stuff is well-designed (for the price), but has horrible components and build quality. If you plan on using the mixer on music gigs, the Behringer won't last long.

The Yamaha also has more headroom on the mic pre's.

System Info - G5/Dual 2 - 10.4.7 - QT v7.1.2 - 8GB ram - Radeon 9800Pro - External SATA Raid - Decklink Extreme - Wacom 6x8

I decided t o go with a Yamaha MG12/4. I have only been playing with it for a bit, but the S/N is good and you can't beat the price. 199.00 USD. I did apples to apples in the music store and the yamaha didn't sound any different.

thanks for the info.
