Sound Library Suggestions?
on May 12, 2005 at 3:25:16 pm

I'm an editor for an animated series who has been asked to do some research on purchasing a sound library for the show. (The sound guy hasn't come on board yet.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If they have the budget and are looking for original sounds,
Then hire a good sound designer to create original sounds for your animations.
If the budget is minimal and they don't care if the sounds are used in other animated shows,
then just do a google search and pick from one of the many libraries out there that the other guys are using.

A popular source for foley and other sounds for various productions is The Hollywood Edge. They are at: http://www.hollywoodedge.com

Thanks Ron...

I think I've decided to go with their Premiere edition.

Just spent a little time with a cup of coffee and touring your website this morning, William. You have some good stuff there. Congratulations on getting "It's About My Brother" into rotation on the Independent Film Channel. Funny stuff. Loved the Quicktime sample movie as it really gave a sense of the style -- nice work.

It was a lot of work. Hopefully, I'll start on a new animated short before too long.
