Auto adjust fluctuating gain levels.
on Sep 28, 2017 at 8:28:10 pm

I have a first time problem.

There is a scene where auto iris is fluctuating as the talent moves his hands in front of his bright shirt.

Is there a magical plug in or a Premiere pro effect that can smooth out these fluctuations. If not, I may have to alter color correction and throw in a dissolve.

Thanks much.

Auto Iris. Ugh. The bane of editors across the globe. Sadly, I know of no magic bullet that can fix this problem automatically. You hay have to resort to keyframing tweaks you make in Lumetri.

Hi Dave.

I've been lucky over the eons in post and this is my first auto iris hit. Chris sent me a few site that have potential auto-fixes.

Wish me luck.

if it only happens a few times, crossdissolving the adjustment layer color correction is the fastest.

if it happens like 50 times, you could try a free auto remove flicker and auto white balance after effects template. works so well, I haven't changed the code in years.

also, if you need a professional plugin, there's many to choose from:

these work in premiere:

Thanks Chris. I'll give the plug-ins a try. I'm great at mixing 16 tracks of audio and color correcting, but I'm not an After Effects Head
