Lag when adjusting scale and position on still images
on Jun 26, 2017 at 12:49:59 pm

Hello-
I'm creating a rough animation (storyboard animatic), using the latest version of Premiere CC 2017.1.2

The animatic is around 11 minutes and 550 PNG panels at 1920 x 1080.

I am using a decently spec'd MAC PRO CYLINDER and OSX.

When I adjust the POSITION or SCALE of an image there is a significant lag on the preview image. As I recall the last time I used Premiere for this sort of thing there was no lag.

It makes it quite difficult to create the animatic because many panels need to be re-sized or panned, and the size change is not 1:1, so you can't really eyeball things, or you have to wait for the preview to catch up.
'Thanks
MC

Does anyone know what could cause

Are your png source files 1920x1080?

What size is your sequence and what are your sequence settings?

Try changing the playback quality from full to half to see if that makes a difference.

Sounds odd for a mac pro to struggle with that.
