I've seen similar posts, but not quite like mine so here goes
I've been working on a Premiere CC 2017 project on a PC and have transfered all the assets on my Macbook Pro. I can open the project on the Mac version and work with it (it only gives a Mercury playback error upon opening the file). I can save with the Mac and reopen the file without problem. But if I bring back that file on my PC, it gives me a "The project appears to be damaged. It cannot be opened". I can't import that project into a new one either.
Both programs are the same version CC 2017.1 v11.1.0 (222)
Any idea how to fix this?
Could it be a different scratch drive folder issue?
Could it be that on the Mac, the entire project folder (and subfolders with footage) are on the desktop and the PC version it is on an external drive (different drive Letter)?
Could the Mercury playback thing be at fault?
I don't know, I'm just bouncing up ideas here.... Usually, when an entire project is a specific folder, moving it rarely causes problems.
