Sequence settings for various clips
on May 26, 2017 at 7:29:30 pm

I am working on an editing job where I have download various short and long video clips from Youtube and I have to edit them in Premiere Pro. I understand that the best way to have proper sequence settings is to drag a clip on new sequence icon and that way your new sequence inherits the right settings from your source clip.

However, I am not sure what should be the right approach when you have various clips with varied frame rates etc. Should I create a separate sequence for each clip and then created a nested sequence.

This would be 100% non-linear as I would be showing a few seconds of one clip, then another clips for 15-20 secs and then the previous clip comes on timeline again. All I need is to have a final output without any unexpected results.

Thanks in advance.

Don't do that trick with YouTube downloads. Those are all MP4 variants. Make a DNxHD or ProRes or Cineform sequence, and edit in that.
